Votes for Women – and Men!

On 6 February 1918 The Representation of the People Act became law in the UK, enabling more people to vote than ever before including women over 30 who met a property qualification and all men over 21 – the first time that working class men had the vote. This talk will shed light on what the Act meant for people in Wiltshire and how it was locally received.
